The Los Angeles based Post Punk group Fevr release their latest single "ESCAPE".
A synth rich track ESCAPE captivates with tight programmed snares and contrasting keys , that urge the listener to dance.
You realize though upon listening, that this is not just an ordinary post punk tune, if the arrangements beautiful styling doesn't shake you up then the subject matter definitely takes you by surprise.
"Escape" encompasses the perfect blend of haunting isolation and the warmth of nostalgic familiarity. Posing the question "why or where are we escaping to? what are we running from when this track is so enticing?" The answers are quickly shown to the listener while tuning in.
Behind the Scenes With FEVR
Spiral was given an exclusive behind the scene look about the recent release.
What inspired you to write Escape?
Fevr: " Escape was inspired by addictions I had faced. The idea that no matter how hard you try you can’t get out of this loop hole. It could be drinking, drugs, toxic relationship or anything that takes you to the point of insanity. It is when you are the point of giving up and there is no escape."
How has the process been creating it?
Fevr:" For this song I made the beat with amazing samples by Splice. Then added the bass line and synth with my Behringer Deepmind 12. After that I added guitar where I felt it was needed. Usually the vocals come last. For this song I got the feeling of being trapped and the word escape came to mind. From there I got the concept of not being able to escape when feeling trapped. Usually I take a step away and then fine tune everything. That’s about it for the process."
When did you begin making music and how has your process changed between the start of Fevr vs now ?
Fevr: "When I began making music for Fevr it was just me (Matt the singer). Now there is 3 other members. Gizmo from Vick Vapors, Jameson from Missing Words and Chris from In Shadows. I have the most amazing guys by my side and I’m so grateful. For some more recent songs ,we have wrote and are still working on, the process has been all of us writing parts. For the live performance perspective these guys bring so much energy and are bringing my ideas to life! It is so exciting!"
What are you looking forward to with Fevr?
Fevr: "I am looking forward to traveling all over the US and the world. Our Fevr family is so amazing and we all can’t wait to see what the future holds. This is all about love, support and the community! We are so humbled by the people that believe in us and can’t wait to see what’s next!"
Tour life w/ FEVR
BRIGHT BLACK MOON TOUR
FEVR finished up their recent "Bright Black Moon" Tour. The band went on a full length US tour with HOLY WATER. The band announced the ending of the tour with words of celebratory conclusion. The Tour featured support from other acts such as French Police, Calaverx , Grizzill , Obskuros , Past Self , and more.
